Ashraf Sobhi, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, received today, Thursday, Swiss Gianni Infantino, President of the International Football Association (FIFA), upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport, in the presence of Hani Abu Rida, member of the FIFA Executive Office.
The official website of the Egyptian Ministry of Sports stated today that the visit of the FIFA President to Cairo to attend the opening of the Egyptian Football Association’s new building in the 6th of October City, “The Goal Project, the National Team Center”, in addition to attending the activities of the General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) scheduled to be held tomorrow, Friday. In the presence of the President of the Federation, members of the Executive Office and heads of civil federations, members of the General Assembly.
The Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports welcomed the FIFA President’s visit to Cairo, and his constant keenness to attend the activities of the Confederation of African Football, and to provide support and assistance to the federation’s policies and vision towards developing African football.
Sobhi is scheduled to attend the activities of the CAF General Assembly, which is chaired by South African Patrice Motsebe, president of the Confederation of African Football, and a number of files will be discussed, including the annual budget, the program for developing football infrastructure in Africa, and the international matches calendar.
