Al-Hazm sacked his Portuguese coach, Helder, against the backdrop of declining results, and hopes to sign the 51-year-old Frenchman, Carteron.
The source toldFilGoal.com Hazm made an offer to Carteron.
He added, “The coach requested a 48-hour deadline before responding, because he is waiting for a call from Amir Mortada to consult about his assistant staff and his future with the club.”
It is expected that Amir Mortada will return to the position of general supervisor of the first football team in Zamalek, after the return of the previous board of directors to lead the club.
There is no general coach in the technical staff of Zamalek after the departure of Osama Nabih at the end of last season.
Mortada Mansour, the president of Zamalek, had said in a press conference that he welcomed Carteron’s continuation.
“We will not allow another fall so that discipline can return to the team. We will appoint a general coach and an assistant coach, and we have agreed with Carteron on that,” he added.
And Carteron’s contract with Zamalek extends to 2024.
Carteron has led the team since last March, and in 34 matches, he won 25 times and lost only 3 matches.
Carteron was crowned with Zamalek in the Egyptian League last season.
