Barcelona players celebrate Depay’s goal against Espanyol

Barcelonas Memphis Depay stressed his happiness after his teammate Philippe Coutinho scored a goal through the penalty kick that he left in front of Villarreal.

Barcelona defeated Villarreal by three goals to one in the match that brought them together at La Ceramica in the 15th round of the Spanish League.

Depay scored the second goal in the last minutes of the match, before a penalty kick was given to Depay for Coutinho, who asked for a shot to score it successfully.

“We needed that win,” Depay told Barcelona website after the match. “I am also happy to score goals and get the three points.”

“I have to give more to the team and I have to score more goals because the team needs that, I need to keep scoring so that the team can continue to develop.”

“We had confidence and character and in the end things turned out well, and the goal ball was not lost,” he continued.

He added, “Coutinho asked me to take the penalty and I did not have a problem with that, we are a team and we are here to help each other, besides, it was his moment and he needed to score it to get confidence, if Coutinho is happy, I am happy too.”

Barcelonas balance rose to 23 points in seventh place, three points behind entering the golden square.
