Al-Ahly will participate in the World Cup with 6 other clubs, namely: Chelsea of England – Palmeiras of Brazil – Monterrey of Mexico – Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia – Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates – Auckland City of New Zealand.
It is expected that Al-Ahly will record his appearance in the Club World Cup from the quarter-finals with Al-Hilal and Monterrey, while the tournament will open against Al-Jazira and Auckland City.
Al-Ahly is scheduled to meet either with the winner of the Al-Jazira and Auckland match, or one of the Saudi Al-Hilal and Mexican teams led by former Egypt coach Javier Aguirre.
In the event that Al-Ahly wins in the quarter-final match, it is expected that they will face European champions Chelsea, or Libertadores champion Palmeiras, according to the results of the draw, knowing that the two teams participate in the semi-finals.
