Indonesian media published details of a heinous crime committed by a Saudi resident in Indonesia, where the accused killed his wife with hydrofluoric acid (acid) out of jealousy.
Urbanasia said:urbanThe Cianjur police in West Java managed to arrest Abdul Latif, 29, in an assault case that led to the death of his 21-year-old wife, Sarah.
Sarah died after suffering severe burns all over her body from acid spray.
The Indonesian website stated that the victim was taken to Cianjur Hospital, but the medical staff could not save her life.
This, and the website “Urbanacia” published some facts about the case of Abdel Latif’s persecution of his wife, which he was able to collect from various sources.
1. The alleged jealousy motive
Based on the results of the initial examination, the perpetrator admitted that he was jealous of the victim, who was allegedly close to another man, and this made the perpetrator harm his wife by pouring acid on her body, causing serious burns.
He added, however, that the police are still investigating the case to determine the motive behind the murder.
“Whether there is a third person or just blind jealousy, we are still investigating the matter, we are still conducting further investigations to reveal other motives,” said Cianjur Police Chief Septiawan Adi.
2. Not the first time
The Indonesian website stated that the perpetrator and the victim had been married 1.5 months ago, and it was not the first time that the victim had been subjected to violence, explaining that this was based on the results reached in the initial examination.
3. The offender faces life imprisonment
The Indonesian website indicated that the police arrested the culprit at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Swata) when he was about to flee abroad, and Cianjur Police Chief Donny Hermawan said that the culprit will be charged with several charges that carry a sentence of life imprisonment.
Donny Hermawan stated that the accused will be tried according to Article 340 of the Penal Code for premeditated murder, and Articles 338 and 351 of the Penal Code regarding persecution.
