Dr. Ahmed Abu Abla, head of the medical staff for the first football team in Al-Ahly Club, said that Ali Maaloul, the left-back of the team, had an MRI during the past hours.
Abu Abla said that the x-rays proved that Maaloul had a slight tension in the connective muscle, explaining that this tension needs treatment for approximately four or five days, during which the player is absent from group training.
Ali Maaloul suffered an injury in the match between Al-Ahly and Ghazl El-Mahalla, which was held yesterday, in which Al-Ahly won 3-2 in the fifth round of the Premier League.
Al-Ahly will meet Smouha next Thursday in the sixth round of the Premier League.
Al-Ahly leads the league championship standings with 15 points, collected from five matches, as it beat Al-Ismaily, Al-Ahly Bank, Zamalek, Arab Contractors and Ghazl El-Mahalla.
