Paris Saint-Germain: Neymar’s absence from 6 to 8 weeks

French football club Paris Saint-Germain confirmed the absence of its Brazilian striker Neymar for a period of six to eight weeks due to an ankle injury.

The Brazilian star came out of the Paris Saint-Germain and Saint-Etienne match, which the Paris team won 3/1 due to injury, as he was seen walking out on crutches.

And the Argentine coach, Mauricio Pochettino, said that he did not expect the injury to be serious, but tests confirmed that Neymar had twisted his left ankle.

And Paris Saint-Germain stated, today, Monday, that an additional examination will be conducted this week to determine the duration of his recovery.

In the event of Neymar’s absence for two months, he will be away from Paris for eight matches in all competitions, including the last match of the French team in the Champions League group stage against Club Brugge in Belgium, and a match against Lyon on January 8 in the French League.

The 29-year-old Brazilian star is struggling to reach his highest level in the 2021/22 season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 14 matches in all competitions.
