Pedri, who celebrated his nineteenth birthday last Thursday, starred remarkably in recent months and succeeded in securing his place in the starting line-up of “La Roja”.
Pedri was chosen as the best promising player in the European Cup finals last summer, when his country was eliminated from the semi-finals by Italy, which later won the title.
Pedri concluded his marathon season in Japan by winning silver in the Tokyo Olympics, after Spain lost to Brazil in the final, which was his 73rd in 2020-2021.
Pedri started his football career with Las Palmas in the Canary Islands before making his debut with Barcelona in September 2020.
He became the second youngest promising player to play 50 games for Barcelona, behind Bojan Krkic.
Last Monday, he won the “Golden Boy” award given by the Italian newspaper “Totosport” for the best young player under the age of 21 in the old continent.
Pedri extended his contract with Barcelona last October until June 2026.
