“Religious Representatives” discusses a request by a Coptic deputy to repair and renovate some mosques in Cairo


Committee discussed religious affairs The House of Representatives, during its meeting today, Tuesday, requested a briefing submitted by Representative Abanoub Ezzat Aziz, regarding the restoration of the roof of the Al-Noor Muhammadi Mosque on Abdel Hamid El-Deeb Street in the Sahel in Cairo, because of the permanent danger it poses to worshipers.

The Religious Affairs Committee recommended quickly completing the procedures to start replacing and renovating the Al-Noor Al-Muhammadi Mosque on Abdel Hamid Al-Deeb Street on the coast in Cairo Governorate.

The committee also discussed the briefing request submitted by the same representative, Abanoub Ezzat Aziz, regarding the restoration of the Khazandarah Mosque in the Sahel neighborhood in Cairo, as the mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the northern region and a symbol of Islamic monuments.

The Religious Affairs Committee recommended the organization of a parliamentary visit to the Khazandarah Mosque to determine its condition, stressing the importance of developing ancient mosques to activate religious tourism.
