The match between Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman was decided by a 1-1 positive tie in the first round of the first group matches of the Arab Football Cup, which will be hosted by Qatar until December 18.
The Omani team opened the scoring in the 78th minute through Salah Al Yahyai from a penalty kick.
And the “Lions of Mesopotamia” team, Hassan Abdel Karim, scored a penalty kick in the last moments of the match, specifically in the eighth minute of the calculated time as a substitute for the lost.
The Iraqi team has played with ten players since the 68th minute after its player Yasser Qassem was sent off after receiving a red card for receiving a second warning.
With this tie, the Iraqi and Omani teams collected their first point in the tournament and shared the first place in Group A, awaiting the result of the Qatari and Bahraini teams’ match later today.
