Media reported conflicting reports on whether the ousted Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok reached an agreement with the military who overthrew his government to return to his position.

Today, Wednesday, Al-Hadath TV, which is affiliated with Al-Arabiya, reported that Hamdok stipulated that, to return to the prime minister’s chair, he would collect all the proposed initiatives as a road map for him and release the detainees from the ministers and political leaders of the “forces of freedom and change.”

According to TV sources, the next government will include “independent competencies.”

For its part, Reuters news agency quoted a source close to Hamdok as saying that the ousted prime minister has not yet reached an agreement with the military, stressing that negotiations are still ongoing between the two parties.

This comes after indications emerged that the military, who overthrew Hamdok’s government early last week and dissolved the Transitional Sovereignty Council, approached an agreement with the ousted Prime Minister to end the political crisis that erupted in the country against the background of these developments, under intense international pressure.
