A strange and shocking incident at the same time witnessed a football match in Egypt, where the referee was beaten as “punishment” for awarding a penalty kick.
In the details, the Lavina and Al-Wasta match, which was held on Sunday at Al-Assiouty Stadium in Beni Suef Governorate, in the ninth week of the fourth group competition in the third division, witnessed a member of the technical staff of Al-Wasta team beating the referee of the match, in the 85th minute after he was awarded a penalty kick in favor of Laviina.
It is noteworthy that at the time the score was 4-3 in favor of Al-Wasta.
After the incident, referee Mahmoud El-Desouky went to the dressing room to take a decision to cancel the match and submit his report to the Competitions Committee.
In addition, both teams are awaiting the report of the Fourth Group Competitions Committee to resolve the situation in that incident, after the referee refused to complete the match and insisted on canceling it.
