Al-Ahly club officials received calls from their counterparts in the Confederation of African Football, confirming that the African Super Championship will be held on December 24 against Moroccan Raja, and it will not be postponed to next February, as it was reported.
Al-Ahly officials contacted their counterparts in the Confederation of African Football “K” to coordinate the date of the African Super, after the date of the African Super Championship witnessed intense controversy during the past days, after circulating news about different dates for this tournament, which will bring Al-Ahly together with Moroccan hope.
The tournament was scheduled to be held last September, and was postponed to the month of December, and reports came out from CAF confirming that the tournament was postponed to next February, before new news emerged hours ago confirming that the tournament would be held on December 24 in Qatar.
During the past hours, Al-Ahly received assurances from CAF that the African Super Championship will be held on December 24 in Qatar.
Al-Ahly is communicating with CAF to find out the deadline for this tournament, as well as in order to obtain an exception to open the door for African registration before African Super Championship If it is held on December 24, this is so that Al-Ahly can use the new deals (Percy Tau, Miccione, Ahmed Abdel Qader, Ammar Hamdi, Hossam Hassan and Karim Fouad) in this tournament.
CAF is scheduled to open the second registration period on the first of next January, but Al-Ahly wants to obtain an exception by registering new deals before the first of January, specifically before the African Super Championship, if it is confirmed that it will be held on December 24.
