Books – Muhammad Nassar:

The Ministry of Environment issued a statement regarding the impact of weather factors on air quality during the period from 19 to 20 December.

This is based on reports issued by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority and reports issued by the early warning system of the Ministry of Environment.

The ministry said that it is expected that during the period from Sunday, December 19, 2021 until the end of Monday, December 20, 2021, winds that are exciting for sand and dust will activate in the north of the country until northern Upper Egypt, and may reach the storm limit on the open areas at intermittent periods. Which negatively affects air quality.

Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, confirmed that the ministry is following up on air quality indicators through the continuous monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment, which is deployed in many parts of the republic.

The Minister appealed to the elderly citizens and those with chest and respiratory diseases to avoid daily activities in the open air during this period to avoid the negative effects resulting from the activity of wind, sand and raised dust. In the event of rain, the air quality index rises and alleviates the pollution crisis.

The Minister of Environment confirmed that the Central Operations Room receives around the clock any complaints about citizens related to any source of air pollution, through the complaints hotline 19808 or through WhatsApp on 01222693333.
