A spokesperson revealed Ministry of Endowments Abdullah Hassan told “Sky News Arabia” that “the meaning is not the translation of the verses of the Qur’an themselves, because the Holy Qur’an is not read or spoken except in the Arabic language in which it was revealed.”

Hassan added that “what will be translated is the interpretation of the verses of the Qur’an,” noting that “there is a book in the name of the team in the interpretation of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an,” issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments and translated into several languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Albanian, Russian, Persian, Urdu, Indonesian and Malaysian.

The Awqaf spokesperson said that “soon this book will be translated into Greek, specifically within two weeks from now, and then into the Hausa language within a month, after which work will be done to translate it into Hebrew“.

He explained that “there will be reliance on a specialized committee of senior professors at the Faculty of Languages ​​and Translation at Al-Azhar University and other Egyptian universities, in order to reach an accuracy in translation worthy of the status of the Holy Qur’an.”

Hassan said that the target audience is “everyone who wants to see the interpretation of verses The Holy Quran Whatever his location or nationality,” he explained, “The Ministry of Awqaf generally makes its publications available, especially the translated book of the National Team, on the electronic space, as well as printed copies for those who want to know the correct interpretation without distortion or false information.”

The spokesman stressed that “this project comes within the framework of the efforts of the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf to renew religious discourse and confront the extremist ideology it propagates terrorist groups through distorted interpretations of the Qur’an.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian Minister of Endowments said Wednesday, during his speech at the preparatory conference for the twenty-eighth global competition of the Holy Qur’an, that the ministry has allocated training courses for female preachers along with imams, to teach them foreign languages, and “already 6 female preachers have passed these courses at an outstanding level and they will be honored.”

Jumaa explained that “the training department will expand for those who wish to imams and preachers to obtain these courses, in order to improve their level in foreign languages.”

The Minister of Awqaf revealed that “the translation of the Holy Qur’an into Greek, Hausa and Hebrew will soon be completed.”
