Tunisian international Hannibal Al-Majbri said that he hopes to face Egypt in the final play-off of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
Tunisia beat Egypt with a goal in the Arab Cup semi-finals, in the time calculated instead of lost, to wait for the winner to face Qatar and Algeria in the final.
In statements after the match, Hannibal said: “I hope Tunisia will face Egypt in the World Cup qualification playoff.”
Tunisia is among the five teams in the first classification, while Egypt is in the second classification, so that the possibilities of facing the two teams remain in the World Cup supplement draw.
Hannibal added: “I thank the Tunisian and Egyptian fans. The atmosphere in the stadium was crazy, like the Champions League final.”
Hannibal concluded: “I thank all the Tunisian players for their success in reaching the final. We hope that Yassin Meriah returns quickly after injury. This is the first tournament with the Tunisian national team after many years of effort.
