Of course, there are many moments that the Turkish photographer cannot forget when practicing his passion.

On one occasion, Sammak was trying to get some good shots of Maha. However, an ostrich suddenly appeared in his way, and got very close to the oryx.

Thus, the oryx soon started chasing the ostrich.

“I was very lucky to spot this chase,” the Turkish photographer said, while speaking to CNN in Arabic.

Sammak explained that this picture was definitely not easy, but you have to be mentally prepared for the long wait until you spot the different types of wildlife.

According to the Nature Qatar initiative, the Oryx is found in sandy areas, flat desert lands covered with gravel, and in low-lying dunes areas. It rests in summer in shady areas, especially at times of peak heat, and feeds at night. In winter, it feeds during the day and hides from the cold desert winds at night.

Oryxes can travel 50 kilometers in one night, and they can smell the areas of rain from a long distance, and move towards them to benefit from grazing in them.

Sammak was amazed at the Qatari Arabian Oryx’s tolerance of the harsh weather conditions in the country, and was also surprised by the presence of flamingos when he was on an expedition in the mangroves.

Sammak was fortunate to spot beautiful images of the Arabian Oryx, flamingos, owls, ostriches, and some other migratory birds.

To start with, you should make sure all your equipment and tools are well prepared, considering that you need to wait for a very long time, you don’t want to miss a specific moment.

Smack explained the importance of freeing yourself from any other commitment you had that day, so you don’t feel pressured.

It is very important for the photographer to be patient, knowing that the animal will not stop and smile at you until you get your perfect picture. You should plan your trip with time, location, weather and season in mind.
