The diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, Anwar Gargash, announced that his country will send a delegation to Iran to discuss and improve relations between the two countries, pointing out that his country shares regional concerns about Iranian policies and activities in the region, but believes that “confrontation is not the best way forward.”

In a press statement, Gargash pointed out that economic dialogue and cooperation are part of confidence-building measures with Iran, stressing that “it will take time.”

The Emirati advisor considered that even if the nuclear negotiations with Iran achieve positive results, they will not address all concerns about Iranian policies, noting that the Gulf allies are aware of the Emirati moves, and that the goal of all this is to “open a new page in relations.”
