A source in Al-Ahly reveals to “Yalla Koura” the developments of Akram Tawfiq’s injury


The x-rays and medical examinations that Akram Tawfiq, the right-back in Al-Ahly and the Egyptian national team underwent, after his return to Cairo, confirmed that he had an anterior cruciate ligament.

Al-Ahly’s medical staff was keen to conduct medical examinations for Akram Tawfiq upon his return to Cairo, which only confirmed the injury to the anterior cruciate ligament.

A source in Al-Ahly said that there are extensive and wide-ranging contacts taking place in the current hours to select a specialized medical center at the highest level to perform the surgery in Germany or Spain.

The source added: “Despite the strict precautionary measures to confront the Corona virus in Europe, Al-Ahly and its responsibility are doing their utmost to end all matters so that the player undergoes cruciate ligament surgery as soon as possible.”

He continued, “We have already sent the results of those tests to medical centers in Spain and Germany, in preparation for the start of treatment.”

He explained, “Within hours, the location of the surgery will be determined, and the travel visa for Akram Tawfiq is being finalized.”

And he concluded: “Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, personally follows up all the matters related to Akram Tawfiq and his travels, and provides all possibilities for the player’s treatment and rehabilitation so that he can return better than he was before.”
