Al-Hilal team was crowned the Saudi Super Cup champion today, Thursday, at the expense of Al-Faisaly Club, after winning it on penalties (4-3) after a draw (2-2) in the original time of the match.

Al-Faisaly advanced with two early goals, signed by the players, Muhammad Al-Omari and Roman Amalfitano, in the 16th and 24th minutes, respectively.

Salem Al-Dosari responded with a goal to reduce the difference for the “leader” with a wonderful “scissor” shot, at the 40th minute of the first half.

Then, Al-Hilal defender Yasser Al-Shahrani equalized for his team by the 53rd minute of the meeting, which was held at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, in Al-Athma, Riyadh.

Al-Hilal decided the result of the match in his favour, in a penalty shootout series (4-3), which the two teams resorted to immediately after the end of the original time, with a draw with two goals for each.

Al Hilal club won the 64th title in its history, and the third title in the history of the Saudi Super competition, to be unique in the record, by a title difference in front of the runner-up, Al-Nasr, followed by Al-Ahly, Al-Shabab and Al-Fateh, with a title for each.
