In a statement posted on his Facebook page, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said: “President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is heading this morning to the United Arab Emirates.”

He added, “The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President’s visit to the sister Emirates comes within the framework of the specificity of the Egyptian-Emirati relations and what brings the two countries together of historical brotherly ties and relations of cooperation and mutual coordination at all levels,” noting that “the President is expected to discuss with his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, aspects of the close and extended bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE, as well as consultation and coordination on recent developments in regional issues, in light of the current stage of concerted efforts to Protecting Arab national security and confronting attempts to destabilize the security of Arab countries.
