Egypt announces the update of the entry conditions for its territory


The spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, announced the update of the health controls and requirements that are applied at entry points to the country, in line with the developments related to the Corona virus.

According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, these procedures included the requirement that those coming to the country, whether Egyptians or non-Egyptians, obtain any of the anti-Coronavirus vaccines, approved by the World Health Organization or the Egyptian Medicines Authority.

He added that 14 days must have passed since the second dose of vaccination, for two-dose vaccines, or at least 14 days after being vaccinated with the one-dose scheduled vaccines, before reaching the Egyptian territory.

He pointed out that in the absence of a certificate stating receiving the vaccine, it is required that the person coming to the country possess a certificate stating that he is negative for the Corona virus, with any of the tests approved by the Ministry of Health and Population (PCR – Antigen Rapid Test – ID NOW) within 72 hours before reaching the destination. Ports of the country, with the exception of children under 12 years old.

Abdul Ghaffar stated that work has been suspended by conducting the ID NOW COVID-19 test analysis for those coming from (South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini), pointing out that the implementation of the new procedures will start from Saturday, January 22.
