Javier Aguirre, coach of the Mexican club Monterrey, spoke about facing Al-Ahly in the Club World Cup in the UAE.

Monterrey is preparing to face Cruz Azul in the Mexican League before traveling to meet Al-Ahly on February 5 in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup.

Aguirre said at the press conference, “There are now people working on reports and videos of the competitor. I am lucky because I worked in Egypt and know Al-Ahly well.”

He added, “Al-Ahly has five players in the African Nations Cup, and I know them, but I am not very involved at the moment.”

And he concluded, “It is Cruz Azul’s turn, they deserve their respect, and after tomorrow’s match I will focus on Al-Ahly.”

Monterrey occupies fifth place in the Apertora stage (the second half of the season) in the league, after two rounds of a tie and a win.

Monterrey will meet Cruz Azul in the Mexican League at dawn next Sunday, and then the team will travel to the Emirates to participate in the World Cup.
