The Egyptian Football Association revealed the fact that Mohamed Salah left the Egyptian national team camp after the Guinea-Bissau match.

Some reports stated that Mohamed Salah will leave the Egyptian national team camp after the Guinea-Bissau meeting in order to attend the FIFA World Player of the Year award ceremony in Switzerland.

Osama Ismail, a spokesman for the Football Association, toldFilGoal.com About that: “There is no truth to what is rumored about Mohamed Salah leaving the national team camp after the Guinea-Bissau match to attend the World Player of the Year award ceremony in Switzerland.”

He added, “We are currently coordinating only for him to attend the ceremony electronically, but Mohamed Salah continues in the camp and will not leave anywhere.”

The same thing was confirmed by the Confederation of African Football for us, as a source from Kaf told FilGoal.com: “We do not apply a medical bubble in the tournament, but the procedures will be difficult for Salah to leave and return again, and his departure means the difficulty of his presence in the Egypt-Sudan match, as he must be present 48 before the match. An hour to do the PCR for the match, and given the strict procedures for entering and leaving Cameroon, it will be difficult for him to attend the event.”

He continued, “We hope that he will win the award and the decision to leave or stay is for the Egyptian national team, but for us it will be difficult because of the measures taken by the organizing committee to ensure everyone’s safety. In the past few days, some teams requested the presence of fans and public figures in their hotel to support the players, but we refused for fear of Corona virus too.

Mohamed Salah is among the three nominees for the award for the best player in the world, along with Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

The ceremony will be held next Monday evening, hypothetically, only due to Corona’s procedures.

Egypt will meet Guinea-Bissau this evening, Saturday, in the matches of the second round of Group D of the African Nations Cup.

Egypt lost the first match against Nigeria, with a goal to none, and is currently ranked fourth in the group.

Egypt’s third match will be against Sudan next Wednesday.
