FilGoal | News | The Gabonese Federation reveals the reason for the absence of Aubameyang and his two colleagues from the Ghana match

The Confederation of African Football rejected the participation of three players from Gabon, led by Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in the current confrontation with Ghana in the third group of the African Nations Cup.

The Gabonese Football Association said in an official statement: “According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) medical committee, the players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Axel Meye and Mario Lemina, who have returned from infection with the Covid virus, cannot participate in the match.”

“The tests showed problems with the heart tissue, and therefore Kaveh does not want to take any risks,” the statement added.

He explained, “We demand to know the reason for the delay in reaching the results to us. On the other hand, coach Patrice Nouveau returned to the bench after leaving with a negative tinge.”

And the statement concluded, “As a reminder, all players who have obtained negative results regarding Covid 19 must conduct a comprehensive examination before returning to matches.”

Gabon plays in Group C with Ghana, Morocco and Comoros.
