The ideal squad for the year 2021, announced by the International Football Association, during the “the best” awards ceremony on Monday evening, at the headquarters of “FIFA” in the Swiss city of Zurich, witnessed a great surprise.
The ideal squad for “FIFA” was omitted from the name of the Egyptian international, Mohamed Salah, the English star of Liverpool, despite his presence in the short list.
According to the British newspaper, “Liverpool Echo”, Liverpool fans “Reds” on the social networking site “Twitter” criticized “FIFA” for ignoring Salah in the ideal squad for the year 2021, even though the player was competing for the “the best” award itself.
One fan wrote: “We must all laugh because Mohamed Salah is not in the perfect squad for 2021.”
Another added: “4 strikers were selected (Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewandowski and Erling Haaland), but Salah was not among them, how is that?”
Another fan asked a logical question: “Salah is in the final list for the best award, is it reasonable that FIFA should not put him in the ideal squad?”
It is noteworthy that this is the second time in the career of Mohamed Salah, in which he occupies third place in the competition for this award after 2018.
The ideal squad for 2021 was as follows:
Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma, Italy
Defense line: Austrian David Alaba – Portuguese Ruben Diaz – Italian Leonardo Bonucci
For the midfield: Italian Jorginho – French N’Golo Kante – Belgian Kevin De Bruyne
For the attack line: Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo – Norwegian Erling Haaland – Poland’s Robert Lewandowski – Argentine Lionel Messi.
Mohamed Salah came third in the “The Best 2021” award for the best player in the world, which was won by Robert Lewandowski for the second time in a row, followed by Argentine star Lionel Messi, the French striker of Paris Saint-Germain, in second place.
