Moroccan press reports revealed that Badr Bannoun, the defender of the first football team in Al-Ahly club, wanted to stay with his country’s delegation in Cameroon during the African Nations Cup finals.
The Bosnian, Vahid Halilhodzic, had excluded Badr Bannon from the list of Morocco in the African Nations due to his suffering from some health problems after he was infected with the Corona virus.
According to the Moroccan newspaper, Al-Akhbar, the Moroccan Football Association gave Badr Bannon the choice between staying with his country’s national team in Cameroon and resting while continuing his treatment program from the repercussions of the Corona virus, or traveling and joining Al-Ahly Club during the coming period.
The Moroccan report added that Badr Banoun clinged to staying with the Atlas Lions and providing moral support to his teammates during their matches in the African Cup of Nations.
Bannon appeared on the field after Moroccos match against his Ghanaian counterpart at the opening of his campaign in the African Nations Cup, during which the Lions team won with a goal without a response.
The Moroccan team will face its Comoros counterpart at 6 pm today, Friday, in its second match in the group stage of the African Nations Championship, which is currently being held in Cameroon and will continue until the sixth of next February.
