Haitham Al-Subat, president of the Sudanese Al-Hilal club, said that his club’s stadium is ready to host his team’s matches in the group stage of the African Champions League this season.
Al-Subat added, in statements to Al-Mehwar channel, that a delegation from the Confederation of African Football will arrive in Sudan on January 7 to inspect the stadium permanently, and then issue its decision on the possibility of hosting the stadium for matches, after all observations have been avoided.
He pointed out that Al Hilal Stadium can accommodate more than 45 thousand spectators next to the external screens, stressing that the audience is fully prepared and has enthusiasm to attend the match and is waiting for the approval of “K”.
He stressed that his team seeks to cross the group stage, where the club has a place among the top of the continent, pointing out that the group includes great teams, and there is a twinning between Al-Ahly of Egypt and Al-Hilal of Sudan 20 years ago, and the relations between the two clubs are always good.
And he concluded his statements: “If the team is supported by new players, it will be after the end of the group stage and not before the start of the group stage.”
The Sudanese Crescent is in a strong group next to Al-Ahly, the Sudanese Mars and the South African Sundowns.
