The Fuel Prices Follow-up Committee approved an increase in gasoline and diesel prices during the month of April 2022 by between 50 and 51 fils in gasoline and 83 fils in diesel per liter compared to the prices of March 2022.
The fuel distribution companies announced the new prices, with the implementation starting from tomorrow, Friday, April 1, 2022, as the new price included a value-added tax of 5%.
The price of a liter of super “98” gasoline increased by 51 fils from 3.23 dirhams in March to 3.74 dirhams in April, and the price of a liter of “95” gasoline increased by 50 fils from 3.12 dirhams in March to 3.62 dirhams in April, and the price of a liter of petrol E Plus «91» increased by 50 fils from 3.05 dirhams in March 2022 to 3.55 dirhams in April 2022.
The price of a liter of diesel rose by 83 fils per liter from 3.19 dirhams to 4.02 dirhams in April.
The Fuel Prices Monitoring Committee had approved an increase in gasoline and diesel prices during March 2022 by between 29 and 30 fils in gasoline and 31 fils in diesel per liter compared to last February’s prices.
It is noteworthy that the committee approved a reduction in the prices of gasoline and diesel during the month of January, by between 12 and 13 fils in gasoline and 21 fils in diesel per liter compared to the prices of December 2021. And 4 fils in diesel per liter compared to November 2021 prices.
The price hike comes in the wake of fuel prices stabilizing at low rates for 11 consecutive months last year.
The fuel price standards adopted by the Ministry of Energy are determined on a monthly basis, according to the average world oil prices, up or down, after adding the operating costs of the distribution companies.
