FilGoal | News | After a marathon match, Bwalya scores, makes and crowns the “Qatari Ooredoo Cup” with Al Sailiya


Al Sailiya crowned the Qatar Ooredoo Cup after winning the final match over Al Wakra by five goals to four in the match that was held at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

The match witnessed the participation of Walter Bwalya, loaned from Al-Ahly to Al-Sailiya in the entire match, and Bwalya managed to score the third goal and make the fourth goal.

Al-Wakra advanced through Ismail Mahmoud with the first goal early in the fourth minute.

Ahmed Al-Manhali equalized for Al-Sailiya in the 30th minute, before Mohamed Moutadtir added the second goal for Al-Sailiya five minutes later.

Al-Wakra returned to the match with a draw scored by Nasser Al-Yazidi just before the end of the first half.

In the second half, Walter Bwalya appeared and scored the third goal for Al Sailiya in the 51st minute, after receiving the ball inside the penalty area to hit a wonderfully ground ball to the left of the goalkeeper.

In the 56th minute, Al-Wakra equalized again through Gelson Dalla, before Bwalya returned after only four minutes to create the fourth goal for Al-Sailiya with a superb pass towards his colleague Strandberg, who singled out and hit the ball into the net.

Al-Warka returned again to equalize through Amid Ibrahimi from a penalty kick in the 75th minute, before Idris Fattouhi finished the fifth goal for Al-Sailiya in the 98th minute of extra time with a new penalty kick.

Al Sailiyas crowning is the team’s second in its history in the Qatar Ooredoo Cup and the second in a row, after achieving it last season at the expense of Al Rayyan.
