FilGoal | News | Harry Kane criticizes England fans’ boos against Maguire

England captain Harry Kane has criticized the boos from the Wembley Stadium fans against his colleague Harry Maguire before the start of the friendly match for Cote d’Ivoire.

“We’ve been working hard to rebuild our relationship with England fans in the past few years, so the booing against Harry Maguire at Wembley was misplaced,” Kane said on his Twitter account.

“The fact that Maguire was fantastic on the field and gave us all wonderful memories makes it even more difficult to understand what happened.”

“He doesn’t deserve that reception. He’s got all the support in the changing room and he should get the same from every England fan.”

England defeated its rival Cote d’Ivoire in a friendly on Tuesday, 3-0, as part of its preparations for the 2022 World Cup.

Oli Watkins scored the goals in the 30th minute.

Raheem Sterling added the second goal for England in the 45th minute.

Terum Menges completed the hat-trick for the hosts with a goal in the 90th minute.

The match witnessed the expulsion of Serge Aurier, the player of Côte d’Ivoire, after receiving two yellow cards in just eight minutes, and he left the match in the 40th minute.

Last Saturday, England defeated Switzerland in a friendly 2-1.
