Mohamed Salah regrets wasted penalty kick against Senegal

Croatian Dejan Lovren sent a message of support to his former colleague, Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, after his failure to qualify with the Egyptian national team for the 2022 World Cup.

Senegal qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar by defeating Egypt on penalties, after the two-legged tie between them in the World Cup qualifiers ended in a 1-1 draw.(see details)

Lovren said in a tweet he posted on his personal account on Twitter: “Raise your head, Mo, be proud of yourself and your team.”

He added, “You have given everything, God has bigger plans for you. Stay strong.”

Lovren teamed up with Salah in the ranks of Liverpool before moving to the Russian Zenit.

The original time of the meeting ended with Senegal winning with a goal without a response, which is the same result of the first leg match that was held at Cairo Stadium a few days ago.

The match went to extra time and then the penalty shootout, which ended with Senegal winning 3-1.

After the marathon match, which lasted for 120 minutes of combative play and the manly performance of the Egyptian players, we thank all the players and the technical staff for their efforts throughout the confrontation and before that the African Nations Championship in Cameroon, during which they also succeeded in reaching the final.

Now, we are waiting for the Egyptian national team and its stars to return and try again and qualify for the World Cup after the next 2026 in the United States of America.
