In its statement, FIFA indicated that the ball will be called the Journey, a name inspired by Qatari culture.
According to a FIFA statement, the flight will support maximum match speeds, as it will move in the air and on the field faster than any other ball in the history of the tournament to increase the speed of matches.
The ball will also provide the highest levels of accuracy and reliability on the court due to its external design.
Jean-Francois Pathy, FIFA Marketing Director commented: “This is an amazing, high-quality official ball from adidas that will be enjoyed by the stars who will be participating in the world’s largest stadium in Qatar.”
“The journey around the world will mark the amazing arrival of the World Cup and will give fans a unique opportunity to interact with the event, as the excitement rises a lot before the big start.”
The flight ball is the 14th consecutive ball that adidas has built for the World Cup.
The 2022 World Cup will kick off in Qatar next November.
