Not Queiroz or the players.. Majed Sami explains why Egypt failed to qualify for the World Cup

Majed Sami, founder of Wadi Degla Club, blamed the failure to qualify Egypt national team To the World Cup, to the Football Association, noting that blaming the players and the technical staff led by Carlos Queiroz is nonsense – as he described it –

Egypt lost the World Cup qualification card at the expense of its counterpart SenegalAfter winning the first leg with a clean goal and losing the second leg with the same result, the penalty kicks decided the balance of the Teranga Lions.

Maged Sami wrote through his personal account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “With the mind like this, Egypt did not reach the World Cup despite having one of the best players in the world, because we met in the final against the African champion and the team ranked first, while our classification was sixth, which is an unfair classification. Fair, because we are certainly better off than Tunisia, at least, so why were we ranked sixth after Tunisia when the lottery was made?

He added: “The real reason is that our team did not play enough friendly matches to raise its ranking as it was in the past, which is a purely administrative error that is borne by all those who led the Egyptian football administratively (federations and committees) and this was accompanied by bad luck that the lottery landed us with the first seed.”

He continued, “This happened to the insistence of the decision-makers at the time, to complete the local football seasons at the expense of the preparations of the first team, and forcing them to the technical managers to accept giving up their right to play friendly matches to gain harmony between the team members and to collect points that put Egypt in its true position as one of the top five teams. Africa with Senegal, Algeria, Morocco and Nigeria.

He concluded: “As for blaming the technical staff or any of the players, this is nonsense.”
