Egypt beat Senegal 1-0 in the first leg of the African qualifiers for the World Cup at the end of this year in Qatar.
The Egyptian team needs to draw with any result or win, in order to qualify for the World Cup, and the loss by a goal difference will also be sufficient to qualify for the World Cup, with the exception of the result (1-0).
The Senegalese team showed great offensive capabilities in the Cairo meeting, and was the party most in possession of the ball, while the Egyptian was satisfied with rare opportunities to reach the net of the Teranga lions.
Egypt will play in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, in a stadium with a capacity of 50 thousand spectators, where the hosts will press to win (2-0) to qualify directly for the World Cup, or return the result (1-0) and resort to penalty kicks.
The Portuguese coach, Carlos Queiroz, the coach of the Egyptian national team, lost his main defenders in the first meeting, Mohamed Abdel Moneim was injured, and Mahmoud Al-Wensh received a second warning to be absent from the suspension, and before them Ahmed Hegazy missed the injury.
Queiroz summoned the duo, Rami Rabia and Ali Jabr, from Al-Ahly and Pyramids, to join the trio, Yasser Ibrahim, Ayman Ashraf and Mahmoud Alaa, to involve a duo among them in the defense.
Carlos Queiroz may make changes in the formation, with regard to the front three, playing Omar Marmoush as a late striker instead of Mustafa Mohamed at the beginning of the match is an option highly suggested.
The rules organizing the match stipulate resorting to extra time if Senegal wins (1-0) in the original time, and then penalty kicks if the tie remains in the two legs of the home and away matches.
Unlike the Champions League matches, Africa maintains the advantage of scoring away from home, which gives Egypt a golden opportunity to kill the match if it scores one or more goals in Dakar.
The Egyptian team and its men wished for a moment of crazy joy and a historic celebration at the Diaminiato stadium, to fulfill their promise to themselves and their fans, which they made in Cameroon after the loss of the African Nations final against the Teranga Lions, which is the celebration in the opponent’s stadium with the World Cup ticket.
