Shoukry: The Negev Summit was not convened to build an alliance against a specific party


Shoukry explained, during a press conference, that Egypt’s participation in the Negev meeting took place with the aim of promoting peace.

The foreign ministers discussed Israel And theUnited State And the Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Egypt, at a summit NegevOn Monday, several issues of common interest and ways to enhance cooperation between these countries were discussed.

Earlier, the Egyptian Foreign Minister described the path that his country set with Israel 43 years ago as “fruitful and shows the importance of stability in the region.”

Shoukry affirmed seeking to enhance areas of cooperation for the benefit of the region, stressing the “importance of the two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians on the basis of the 1967 borders.”

For his part, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid considered that strengthening relations between Israel and Arab partners would deter Iran.

Lapid said, “What we are doing here is making history and building a new regional architecture based on progress, technology, religious tolerance, security and intelligence cooperation. This new combination and the joint capabilities we are building, intimidate and deter our common enemies, primarily Iran and its proxies,” according to “Reuters”.

The Israeli official concluded his speech by saying, “We call on the Palestinians to adopt the path of a common future to prosperity and success.”
