Boulay Dia scored the game’s only goal in the 3rd minute, to win Senegal 1-0 in the second leg of the qualifying round for the 2022 World Cup Africa qualifiers and compensate for their loss in the first leg with the same result at Cairo Stadium.
The match extended for two more periods and the excitement continued in the penalty shootout, which smiled for the second time in a row for the Senegalese team against its Egyptian counterpart, after crowning the African Nations Cup title in the same scenario against two months ago, after the match ended in a negative draw.
The Teranga Lions outperformed in the penalty shootout, 3-1, as Kalidou Koulibaly and Salio Sis missed the first two kicks, before Ismaila Sarr, Bamba Diang and then Sadio Mane scored the qualifying kick.
As for the Egyptian national team, its two stars, Mohamed Salah and Ahmed Sayed Zizou, missed the first two kicks, before Amr Al-Sulayya scored the third kick, and Mostafa Mohamed missed the fourth kick.
