The first response from FIFA to the Egyptian Football Association’s complaint against Senegal

A spokesman for the International Football Association, FIFA, confirmed that they are analyzing the official reports on the match Egypt Senegal is in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The two teams met yesterday evening, in Dakar, in the second leg of the qualifying round for the World Cup in Qatar, where Senegal won the penalty shootout 3-1 to qualify for the World Cup.

The Egyptian Football Association submitted an official complaint to FIFAbecause they were subjected to racism as a result of raising offensive banners against the Pharaohs players, specifically Mohamed Salah, in addition to throwing stones and bottles at them during the warm-up.

The Egypt team bus was also attacked and its windows were smashed, due to the violence of a number of Senegal fans before the match.

For his part, a FIFA spokesperson told Sky Sports: “FIFA is currently analyzing the official reports of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers match between Senegal and Egypt.”

He added, “The relevant information contained in the match reports will be evaluated by the relevant disciplinary bodies before a decision is made on the next steps to be taken.”
