Television footage showed Mohamed Salah leaving sad with tears in his eyes amid a special guard, for fear that Senegalese fans would be exposed to him after some of them went to the field after the meeting.
This shot is considered usual for Salah during the recent period, as he is accompanied by a special guard in all his matches with Egypt, whether internal or external.
Mohamed Salah and Ahmed Sayed “Zizou” missed two penalty kicks for Egypt, in a big surprise, especially since the duo is considered one of the best players to shoot penalty kicks, whether with their clubs or with the Pharaohs.
Egypt lost to its Senegalese counterpart on penalties 1/3 after the original time ended with Senegal leading with a goal, so the two teams resorted to extra games and then penalty kicks after they tied 1/1 with the total of the two matches.
Senegal managed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after ending the hopes of the Pharaohs, who wished themselves to ascend for the second time in a row.
It is noteworthy that Senegal managed to beat Egypt last February during the final match of the African Cup of Nations, also on penalties, to confirm the Teranga Lions’ superiority over the Pharaohs recently.
