Federal tax investigation into Hunter Biden case ramps up The son of the American president Joe Biden, as attorney generals are gathering more information about his financial dealings abroad, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.

Prosecutors asked the US Attorney’s Office in Delaware for more information regarding the income that Hunter Biden obtained from the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings Ltd.

They also questioned one of his partners about his drug and alcohol use, spending habits and mental state in 2018.

According to the report, the investigation into Hunter Biden’s tax crimes began in 2018 and expanded to include potential violations of foreign pressure rules and money laundering, and his work in Ukraine contributed to the first impeachment trial of former President Trump.

Between 2014 and 2019, Hunter Biden served on the board of directors for Burisma and was paid about $50,000 a month, which prompted Trump to urge President Volodymyr Zelensky to open an investigation into Biden’s father, who was Trump’s electoral opponent at the time.

Prosecutors are also reportedly investigating Hunter Biden’s business ties in other countries, such as China and Kazakhstan.

Hunter Biden said earlier this month that he paid more than $1 million in tax obligations with a loan, according to the New York Times, however, that doesn’t protect him from charges.
