After rolling out the global voice notes player for Apple iPhone devices, WhatsApp started testing the feature for Android users two weeks ago, and so far, the feature has only been available to a limited number of Android users who are enrolled in the beta program.
And now with the latest beta update, the company is said to be working on expanding the feature to more users, and according to a report by WABetaInfo, the voice feedback feature is available for more users who use WhatsApp version 18.104.22.168.
What is the universal voice notes player
For those who don’t know, Universal Voice Note Player allows you to listen to a voice note even after you leave the conversation or while using another app while WhatsApp is running in the background.
This feature helps save time as you can easily reply in another conversation while listening to the voice notes, and before the feature, users had to stay in the chat to listen to the voice note.
Apart from this, WhatsApp is adding new emojis from the latest Unicode on WhatsApp beta update for Android 22.214.171.124, as new emojis have been added recently for iOS users.
WhatsApp is said to be working on a feature that will allow you to keep some messages hidden in the chat for a longer period, and according to the report, the feature will allow you to keep certain messages in the chat even after the time limit for the message has passed.
Currently, you have to temporarily disable the disappearing message feature and forward the message to the same chat in order to keep a disappearing message in chats. The process can be quite tedious and the company seems to be aiming to simplify this with the new feature.
