Klopp after replacing Mohamed Salah against Benfica: Returning after what happened in Africa is not easy


Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp talks about the Egyptian star Mohamed SalahAfter Tuesday’s match against Benfica in the Champions League.

The two teams met in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, at Al-Nour Stadium, where they won Liverpool Three goals to one.

The Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, participated in the match as a starter and was unable to score, although he had more than one chance, before he came out as a substitute in the 61st minute.

Klopp said in comments published by the English “Liverpool Echo” network: “I did nothing different (when Salah left), every player wants to score, it is clear that Mo wants to score again, everything is fine.”

He added, “It is a period he is going through and it is not easy to return from Africa (after what happened with the Egyptian national team), he had a lot of pressure on his shoulders, it just needs to be stable, everything is fine.”

He continued: “Both boys (Mohamed Salah and Mane) came back from Africa, it’s not really easy, there was pressure on them, both of them should have led their countries, their coach was part of that too, because of the pressure on them.”

He stressed, “It was an important match for Mo and Mane tonight, one can score and the other unfortunately not, but everything will be fine.”
